Edge Country
When they were teenagers, Sparrow and her little sister Moth clung to each other like lifelines through their parents' divorce. During that turbulent time, they discovered a gateway to a magical world known as Edge Country. Alongside an eclectic assembly of kids from their rural hometown, the two sisters learned sorcery from Edge Country's enchanted academies, became cherished heroes, and battled the monsters of the world's mystical forests – but their idyllic escape abruptly became a nightmare when, without warning, Moth led an army of demons to kill Sparrow. In order to save her own life, Sparrow shut the gateway between worlds, trapping her kid sister on the other side.
Decades later, the adult Sparrow – who has OCD – still grapples with the fallout of Moth's disappearance and is haunted by the question of why her sister tried to kill her. Without warning, she is visited by the Thorn Witch – a being Sparrow and her friends faced as teenagers – who brings a warning: Moth is still alive and is planning to destroy Edge Country. Now Sparrow must rally together a group of former teenage magicians, search for a way to return to Edge Country, and bring Moth home before she can destroy their cherished magical world. But the journey back won't just take them to another world: Sparrow will have to face what really happened all those years ago, and confront her own hidden motivations. Even if Sparrow does manage to save Moth, will she ever earn back the trust of the sister she was once so close to?
EDGE COUNTRY is an epic story about facing the past, accepting change and battling demons – emotional and literal – that must be slain so we can finally grow up.
